Sick For The Big Weekend

I have had a cold for almost 2 weeks.
It is a crappy ass cold that has stopped me from training and sucked every bit of energy from my body.
My nose is plugged up, but still runny.
It sucks!

The cold however will not stop me from having fun.

We leave tomorrow for our big weekend.
Actually it is Ocean Shores Big Weekend to be precise.
Thrown by Tri Freaks It is a big athletic weekend featuring many races.

Lucky for me – I signed up for the sprint triathlon rather than the olympic distance I had originally considered… because I know that I would not be able to finish it with this blasted cold.
My lovely wife (who doesn’t swim will be competing in the 10k run.

Oh this cold pisses me off.

Not just because of messing up my triathlon… nope, not just that.

You see we also have a couples date.

Way back in January I made a post about missing the pajama jammy jam party and how we would most likely not get to meet up with a certain sexy couple until summer.
Yep, summer is here.
Yep, they are meeting us in Ocean shores.
Yep, I have a fucking terrible cold with all the nasty symptoms on the cold medication box plus a few more they don’t cover.
Ain’t life grand?

To much planning and time involved for any of us to consider cancelling.
To long of a wait already.
We have all wanted to meet since last October and I have wanted to do the Ocean Shores big weekend for 2 years.

Yep, the cold sucks.
Hopefully by some magic or grace of God I will get better super fast.
Even with the cold though I am excited.
I am excited for a weekend at the beach.
I am excited for a nice hotel on the beach.
I am excited for a mini vacation from work.
I am excited for my wife to get a break from her stresses.
I am excited for the triathlon. (even if I will do terrible)
I am excited to finally get to meet a pretty girl I have been texting with for many months.
I am NOT excited about my cold… but mind over matter – I am gonna have a blast anyway.

Besides the race and the sex we have plans to build sand castles, fly kites, play on the beach and enjoy a fabulously relaxing time.

Wish me luck!

Awkward Moments

We met a play couple through Adult FriendFinder that seemed very cool.
We exchanged a few emails and then set up a date.
Through texting they seemed very flirty and fun… and they sent many a sexy photo.

When the date arrived we all met at King Street Bar and Grill in Seattle.
It is a semi decent looking bar located across from the stadium.
Bad choice as a baseball game was just getting out… but good choice because of the Mac n cheese.
None of us had ever been there before and I ordered the Mac n cheese on the recommendation of the waiter.
It was soooo yummy!
I highly recommend you try it if ever you go to the place.

Anyway – our very flirty (through texting) friends didn’t seem so flirty in person, but they did seem nice.
We decided to continue on with the adventure even though our dinner and drinks seemed to be filed with one awkward silence moment after another.
I was hoping the awkward silence moments would stop once we got to their home.
They lived about 45 minutes away and we followed them there talking about the non flirty thing and wondering if they even liked us.

When we got to their home we all seemed tired and yawns ensued.
The awkward silence thing kept happening and we really had no clue how to proceed, but the wife of the couple invited us to the bedroom.

We set some mood lighting (by my request) via the use of some candles and then she started kissing me.
The awkward went away pretty fast and we ended up taking a full 30 minutes or so just getting naked while making out and exploring each-other.

My wife is always straight to the point and got naked pretty fast.
She and the husband of our play couple ended up on the bed before I was even close to it.

They also finished when I was maybe half way through with what I was doing… the woman I was with was of the sensual sort and loved to kiss and tease. She was very sexy.

When finally we had ended our slow, sensual sexy act… we all chilled for a bit.
I raided their kitchen for a treat and found cupcakes.

Now usually the sex part of any date removes any sort of awkward feelings that may have been lingering around before the sex, but not in this case.

It went straight back to awkward.
Nobody new what to say.
It was very odd.
We crashed in their guest room because it was 4 in the morning and made a hasty escape in the morning.
How can you feel awkward right after sharing an orgasm with somebody?

So… added to our list of strange experiences in swinging is the awkward silence couple.

Our Local 5K Run

For the last few years we have run the Olympic Medical Center 5k in Port Angeles.

It is a very nice (and pretty) race along the water front trail that is held annually along with the North Olympic Discovery Marathon.
You can get info on both races HERE.

The only year we didn’t do the 5 k was a few back when my wife decided she wanted to do the half marathon instead.

I have only been running again for a little while… so I thought I would do pretty shitty, but nope.
I actually took first in my age group.

My wife also took first in her age group and third overall female, but she wasn’t as pleased because she was a minute slower than the year before.

I have gotten first or second in my age group every year at the OMC… so I was pleased that I was able to get my running back up to par for the race this year.

Our 5k bling

It is amazing how fast you can get your running back up after a break if you work on it.

Now if only I can get my swimming up to a competitive level.
I foolishly signed up for a sprint triathlon that will be in July.
My swimming sucks!
I started going to the pool every third day about a month ago and I still cant swim a half mile.
Open water will just make it worse… so I figure I have to be able to swim a full mile by the end of the month to be sure I wont drown.
Wish me luck!

Raiders Tattoos

I do a lot of football fan tattoos.

The most common (in order)  are The Raiders, The Seahawks, The Cowboys, and The Broncos.

You would think that living in Washington state it would be the Seattle team, but nope.

I do at least 2 Raiders tattoos for every other team tattoo all together.

Raiders fans are a dedicated lot.

Kick Ass Raiders tattoo

This particular tattoo was done from a design the client brought in.

Can’t take credit for the art… but I thought it was a sweet design.

He talked about having some color in it, but I thought it would be best as a black work tattoo and in the end it was obviously the way to go. Color would have just made it kinda goofy.

Survived Rhody Run XXXII

After just a few practice runs… I survived the Rhody Run.

I had figured because of being a couch potato all year that I would have to walk about half of it, but I actually ran the whole thing.
I didn’t run very fast… but I ran.
The weather was perfect and the people on the side of the road had a lot of encouragement as always.

The Port Townsend Rhody Run is definitely one of the nicest beginner friendly fun runs I have done.

This year however I must say that they skimped out on the food at the end.
Huge, slow moving line to get to some bananas and oranges and a few bagels.
The refreshments (besides the always present beer) was just soda. No other options.

They could have spread the tables to keep people moving, but they clumped them all together so as to cause a traffic jam. That is the kind of thing I expect to see at a new – small – unorganized charity run.
Not at a long time running popular run. It sucked.
I have done the Rhody before and they didn’t have that problem.
To alleviate such a problem all that needs be done is spread the tables so that people don’t stop and eat in front of them.

I heard people complain that they didn’t get the little pin that usually comes with the run… but so what.
A year without a pin ain’t gonna hurt you and the shirts more than made up for it.

The Rhody had really great Adidas tech shirts this year.

Anyways… enough of my complaints.
Besides the finish /food/drink issue… It was a great run as always.
I highly recommend the Rhody Run to anybody who is interested in fun runs.
Beginner to elite… it is a great race with many friendly people.

This years general stats…
Number of Finishers: 2,469
Number of Females: 1,401
Number of Males: 1,068
Average Time: 1:32:54
Top Male Time: 36:48
Top Female Time: 45:53

If you live in the NW plan on doing it next year.
You will be glad you did.
